Location

History

The Jiangxi province earned its name during the rule of the Tang Dynasty. Archaeologists and historians are of the belief that Jiangxi stepped into the Stone Age more than 3,000 years ago. According to historical records Jiangxi became an integral part of the Jiujiang Prefecture after the unification of China under the leadership of Emperor Qin Shihuang in the year 221 B.C.
Since the ancient time Jiangxi has been an important seat of learning, arts and cultural development. Jiangxi has been the birthplace of quite a few Chinese writers, painters and poets.
