Location
Yangzhou is located towards the south of the Jiangsu province in

History
It is widely believed that the Zhou dynasty established the Han
State in this part of China. In the later years a Wu king annexed
the area. A canal was dug in the region during the Wu state rule
and the Yangzhou city developed gradually. Yangzhou earned its name
during the reign of Emperor Kai.
Yangzhou has had a number of names in the centuries gone by.
Some of which are Hancheng, Jiangdu and Hanjiang.
