People's Republic of China, as the country is officially known
is the world's largest nation in terms of population. The country
is the third largest when it comes to the area it covers. The
estimated population of China is about 1.28 billion and it has 9.59
million square kilometres of area. These facts add to the
excitement, when one tours such a vast country. The boundaries of
the country stretch as far as to Tibet in the west, Hong Kong and
Taiwan in the south and Haerbin in the east.
Location: China is located in the East Asia and shares
its borders with the CIS countries, North Korea, Mongolia,
Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Vietnam, Mynamar
(Burma) and Laos.

Reaching China and Away: Since China is surrounded by a
number of countries, entering into mainland and islands through
neighbouring countries is easy. You can directly fly into China
from Europe and other Asian countries. A number of tourists enter
into China via Hong Kong or Shanghai. If you wish to sail into
China, you can do so from Japan and South Korea. Other places to
sail into Mainland China are Macau, Shanghai, Xiamen, Tanggu and
Hong Kong.
Note: There is a departure tax of 90.00 (payable in local
currency only), when leaving the country by air. So keep enough RMB
to avoid last minute hassle at the airport.
